       “Growth & Decay”, charcoal sculpture was completed in October 2011. The residency and the journey of its creation is documented in the Lost Valley diary...


           ‘Growth & Decay’ is a time based sculpture. And as such it now has a life of its own. The timber will weather and rot, plants will grow in and around it, insects will lay their eggs in it and live in it. The main concept of the sculpture is to simply illustrate that nothing stays the same, that change is a constant beautiful process of renewal. The hope is to try and record this journey until it becomes lost back into the soil of Heligan...
